Nice words about NCH

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Thank to a few folks for their kind words about us recently. Always good to know we’re doing our jobs well and people are having a great time whether out in the heli or at the yurt. Or making a movie.

Here’s a great write up from Lowell Skoog, the lucky winner of the FOAC (Friends of the Northwest Avalanche Center) auction seat.

And a nice write up from some of the folks who got to help Bob D. celebrate his 40th birthday at the Barron Yurt. And, probably the most detailed trip report from the yurt ever- from Bob and Larina themselves.

And some kind words from the Jedi Master, Seth Morrison.

Here’s Sage’s take as well. Thanks for adding to the mellow vibe!

And Erik “Big Air” Roner’s perspective dropping some cliffs here in the North Cascades.

“Chicks” heli-ski tour with Anne

Friday, February 26th, 2010

NCH guide Anne Keller and a delightful crew of gals came out for a heli-assisted ski tour last week, which included NCH classics like Diamonds, Larch and others in the Silverstar area. Thanks Hana, Vikki, Molly and Sara for coming out and earning some turns with NCH.

Pics from Tuesday

The hight pressure lead to some great flying weather, beautiful views and some great skiing and riding on our north facing terrain. Thanks to Jason of JR Heli for doing some flying so even Seamus got out for some turns.

Pics from the weekend- darn fine powder skiing and riding was had

Monday, February 15th, 2010

The North Cascades are still hanging in there in spite of El Nino’s best efforts. 12-14″ of fluff was had over the weekend- with some deeper sections in spots. Consistent conditions and groups wanting to get after it made for many turns and super fast skiing and riding. The North Cascades are still delivering the goods this season. Come get some.
