Matchmaker, Matchmaker can I go heli-skiing?

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Here at NCH we often field inquiries about heli skiing from solo skiers/riders or a couple of them. The reality of our operation is that we need 4 skiers or riders to make a trip happen. That said, we can definitely pencil folks in for certain dates and try and find others to ski or ride with them.

Right now, we have the following possibilities for twosomes and single riders:

Jan 14th- 2 advanced skiers looking for 2 more
Jan 15th- 2 expert skiers looking for 2

Feb 2-4th, advanced to expert skier and rider looking for 2
Feb 21st- expert skier and rider looking for 2

Our booking situation is fluid and this list will change, but don’t let that discourage you from calling the office to find a date that works best for you.

And the snow keeps on coming

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

Definitely another wipers up day here in Mazama. So we’ll be flying the B3 around as in just over 3 weeks we open for the season on January 14th. We still have some space available on MLK weekend…. and a couple of folks looking for some ski buddies on January 14th and 15th. So if you’re solo or have a buddy and want to ski, we can likely make it happen that weekend. Call the office for more info or to book.

Wintery weather

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

A big system moved through last weekend and piled snow onto the valley floor and doubled the snowpack in the mountains. Six inches has just fallen at Washington Pass today.
And it isn’t even winter.
Here is a glimpse from a foray to the yurt before the recent big storm, but just after a little storm that pushed the snowpack out there to well over 100cm.

A foot of new

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

The latest storm blanketed Mazama with up to a foot of new. The North Cascades Highway is closed for the season. Seems like winter is here. Make sure you’re here this winter by booking some heli-time with us!
