Over 4′ of new in the last week

Friday, March 4th, 2011

And conditions are some of the best of the season, if not the best. Thanks to Dave Waag of Off-Piste Magazine for the slide show, shot yesterday in the Silverstar area.

You could get some of this next Tuesday-Thursday. Other than that, we’re booked until March 17th, with very limited availability the 17th-20th. Don’t delay calling us if you want to get your heli on….

Fly with me

Monday, February 7th, 2011

Fly the friendly skies of the North Cascades to Powderville with Seamus O’Daimhin and a B3 Astar. The skiing is great though the ride may cause you to forget temporarily.
Call NCH to book your flight.

Tasty conditions

Monday, February 7th, 2011

We skied some fine snow conditions last Saturday. The valley floor just received several inches and the mountains much more. We expect more winter conditions headed our way next weekend. Not getting the quality riding and skiing this winter you would like? Come out to Mazama and feed that jones.

Foot of new and bright blue

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

The North Cascades benefited from the last system that moved though last weekend, dropping around a foot of new. And now, with high pressure, we have both pow and bluebird skies. They say a picture is worth a thousands words, so what’s a video worth?

More video from last weekend

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

Here’s another sweet video from last weekend. Thanks Kurt, Kyle, Dylan and NCH first-timer Matt for coming out and enjoying the beautiful weather and fun conditions. As Kurt put it himself “it does show how good the conditions are up there when it’s raining at Alpental.” Indeed.

Video from guide training this past weekend

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

Great times, blue sky and blower pow at the Barron Yurt for our annual guides training.

Looks like the North Cascades will dodge the warm up further south. You could likely be skiing blower pow this weekend if you call and book a trip.

Storms a-brewing, opening weekend looks likely to be epic

Friday, January 7th, 2011

Looks like we’re setting up for some great conditions opening weekend. From the meteorologists at UW: TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN MUCH COLDER THAN NORMAL THROUGH MOST OF NEXT WEEK. THERE IS ALSO POTENTIAL FOR A SIGNIFICANT STORM SYSTEM AROUND THE MIDDLE OF NEXT
WEEK.

We’ll take it.

We still have availability next weekend and into next week. And two expert skiers looking for two buddies on Saturday the 15th. Call the office to reserve your dates.

Snowing here in Mazama!

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Ah, nice to see some big fat flakes falling here at the heli barn for the first time this season. Soon it will be time to break out the touring gear and start poking around up high for the first freshies of the season. Then, before we know it, the heli will be here in early January for a few days of set up before we open January 14th for the season!

Here’s a little video of some of our prime terrain on a bluebird day- from the Silverstar zone towards the Cutthroat zone

Old Man Winter is tapping on the door

Friday, November 5th, 2010
